The Secretary mentioned that the resolution dealing -¡,.¡ith
the Plasonic Hall while contained in his no'teS did not u.ppear
in the minutes of the meeting of December the 17th~ 1968.
It was agreed that the minutes of the meeting of December
17th, 1958 be a..'1lended to include the fOllowing resolution:
On motion of Mr. Parkin, seconded by Mrs~ Earle and carried
unanimously Mr. Miller was authorized to arrange with
j\lr. Russel Harrison for 'the moving of the Hasonic Hall in
~~ñitevale as soon as possible with the total cost or the
move not to exceed $5,000.00.
On motion of Mrs. Earle# seconded by Mr. Miller and carriad
unanimously the minutes of the meeting of December the 17th#
1968 as amended were adopted.

On motion of Mr. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Earle and carried
unanimously the accounts as noted were approved for payment.
III. Furnace-
Nr. r¡larshall explained that in discussing the installation
of the furnace with Rodman Heating it was felt that the
board should determine the cost of an entirely new installa-
tion considering the fact that they had budgeted for such
an item in the 1969 budget. A further quotation was received
for a completely new furnace and to include all necessary
duct work and an inside fuel tank for a total of $932.75.

Company :b2~ authorized 'to proceed with the installation of a

'¡:}'19 Cl1airman inquired whether or not Nr. Hope had provided
e:::timates for the renovation of the two buildings proposed
:Eo£ 1959. !>lr. r¡!iller explained tl1at Mr. Hope was reluctant
to :::orn..:nit hL'11self to a fixed cost in view of the many variables
involved in renovating these old homes. He had agreed tq
aSSUo"tle the entire responsibility for renovating the buildings
~nd obtain whatever material might be necessary for the project.
He felt 't"Dat on this basis he could work towards a budget
£ig1.1re for each building and should this ë4'Tlount be reached
:he Doard could consider whether or not they wished to spend
any ·furt~~er money.

him.self -to any definite price because of the variables in-

V. Masonic Hall -
~;{T.. l'liller reported that ;:,Ir. Hope had taken down the chimney
int~1.e n:Ül as r1:r b aarrison felt that this would si....npli£y
"1::'1'e !::loving of the building. Hr. Harrison had promised to
r.l.ove the building befo:re t'ha spring break up. It was empÞa-
sized t11at it ~,,¡as imperative that the moving of this build-
ing be completed v.¡ itl1 in the next four vleeks as it would be
going across several farms and a further delay would in all
lï;<lihood prevent this rout.e being used. Another point mep-
tloned was the possi0le hydro strike and for this reason it
~'las sugg·es ted that Nr. j>1iller contact Mr. Harrison again and
a-ttempt to have him start 1,>lork irnmediately. Nr. Cook asked
that he be advised once the move starts.

î1r. Hope had agreed to contact the gentleman ""ho \Vas respon-
sible for brea~ing the engine during History In Action Day
Celebrations. Evidently this man had indicated at the time
that he had ,the parts to repair the engine but as yet noth-
ing had b¿en heard from Dim. Shoul~ Mr. Hope be unsuccess-
ful in obtaining these parts from this gentle..<nan Nr. Hiller
'had loca'ced the names of t<.vo Huseums that possibly might
have these parts, one in Saskatoon and one in Alberta.
These Huseums would be contacted should Nr. Hope be l't'ol.-
~);;.ceessful.

VII. Antique Purchases -
Mrs. Earle mentioned that Mrs. D. A. Dugent of l~ Cedar St.,
Ajax had offered to s:~ll the Huseum a tin ba'th for $10.00
".l:J.icl1 ',>las evidently 51..; years old. The Sec:r\~tary 'das asked
to write to Hrs. i:1ugant t'hanking her for her offer but
declining it at this time in view of the absence of any
µisplay area for this item.

Evidently the Historical Society is to meet on J:"'\ebruary the
21st and it is to be hoped that a number of proposed nel,.,
members will be suggested to Council to sit on the ~useum
Board.
x. Barn Raising -
The question of the barn raising for the month of May was
mentioned and the question asked whether or not we in fact
have a barn to raise. r1r. Hiller menticr~ed the problems
experienced by Nr.. Parkin in obtaining the harn originally
destined for this event but felt that the it.atter ,-¡auld be
resolved in the very near future.
The Toronto Historical Board had inquired whether or not
the Museum had any stove suitable for a small sitting room
or beds for officers bedrooms. Evidently they were re-
furnishing the officers quarters at Fort York and would
like to borrow' these item u.1.til such ti:ne as they can
obtain items of their own. It was mentioned that the
JYluseum presently had a stove made in Dundee, Scotland in
the year 1833 and this could be loaneð to the Historical Board
until such time as some or our own buildings \V'ere ready. It
was also suggested that Mrs. Duncan who represented the
Toronto Historical Board might look at the bed presently in
the Museum building proper as it might be of some use to
them.
The Secretary was asked to contact the Royal Ontario Museum
to find out whether they still had any display cases avail-
able that they might be interested in donating to small
Museums. Mrs. Earle understood that they '!.,'lere replacing
a number of their display cases and had in the past given
a number of the older ones to local Museums.
The Next Meeting - Items to Be Considered -
Barn raising and sub co~mittess for History In Action day
celebrations.
