On Eotion of ì-1r. Davidge; Seconded by ITr. ,'[cLean and
carried the I'Iinutes of the meeting of r·!arch 6th 1973
were adopted.
2.
BUDGETS
The Board had for their consideration a statement of
expenditures to dater indicating gross expenditures of
$998.12 and net Revenue of $207.10.
Some discussion took place concerning the account
dealing with the sale of souvenirs and the limitation
placed on the opera·tion of this account Nhere no monies
could ~e expended until such time as existing stock had
been exhausted.

On Hotion of :t·1r. Davidge 1 Seconded by !_i.r. l"TcGee and
carried, it ~'las agr€ed that l\rs. Guest be authorized to
expend a maximum of $300.00 for the purchase of souvenirs
and that a petty cash fund be established to accommodate
the receipts generated therefrom and to provide funds
for future purchases, with a full accounting of this fund
to be provided to the Board at the end of the season:
further that any monies remaining in the account are to
be turned into the Township at that tiffie.
It vlas agreed that a further order for County Atlases
should be placed.
3. ADHINISTRATOR' S REPORT
Hr. Hiller reported that :x. ~'Tilson 1 the gentleman
responsible for repairing much of the furniture in the
r'iuseum had passed av.lay during the past vleek 0 The
Secretary had attended at the funeral parlour on behalf of
the Board.
Another gentleman, r~ro Anderson, had died shortly after
History In Action and the Board Here of the opinion that
some form of commemorative presentation should be made.
It was suggested that possibly recent photographs of the
tvlO men could be located in the picture gallery 't'li th a
suitable postscript noting their contributions to the
!-1useum during the past years.

The KÜ7anis had asked for an estiP"'ate on the completion
of the interior of the shed to the rear of the school and
this .,.¡as being~:t:'oc _".J:~(~ "i.th.
.ilrs. ~'jarr had suggested that all products be sold at
one loca'cion at History In .1\c·tion, thus avoiding the
confusion experienced in the past. The Board felt that
to do this \'lould remove muc> of the effect of the items
being sold and the buildincr.s from "Thich they \·;-ere being
roarke·ted and \'lere not in agreement 't'lith the suggestion.

It appeared likely that the United Church at Kinsale would
be sold as a result of the highway widening in this area.
Those responsible for the church had indicated an interest
in donating a couple of the pe,-rs for the Huseum Church
in memory of the r-:insale Church" It ,·¡as agreed that the
Board accept these if offered.
5. P,.uC'fIOn SALE

vì2ekend in Ii\ay.

carried it v7as agreed th.at the lmction Sale be moved to the
weekend of May26th 1973.

On this topic it ,:¡as suggest.cd that an attempt be made
to bring back the horse and ';;lagon from History IIi Action
to provide rides on Opening Day.
nro Davidge show~d the group a couple of billboards that
he had prepared advertising the opening of the r~useurn.
It waG aareed that he would have the CODY finalize~ on these

and rcturn them to the Secretary for processinq.

It \'las suggested that the Se~1ior Ci·tizens be invited to
participate by supplying tea a.uring the afternoon of the
Auction Sale.

The possibility of printing a permanent poster advertising
the activities of the j:/!useum Has explored a T'c5.ra Davidge is
to investigate this in conjunction with the ~ork he has
carried out on this subject previously,

DISPENSING FlACHINE

Þ.. dispensing machine ~·!l1ich provided seven or eight varieties
of pop in glass bot~les was available at a cost of $175.00.
It was agreed that the Secretary investiaate this matter
further and report back ·to the Board. J
