HomeMy WebLinkAboutCO 01-05REPORT TO COUNCIL Report Number: CO 01-05 Date: March 2, 2005 From: Maurice Brenner, Chair Waterfront Coordinating Committee Subject: Waterfront Coordinating Committee - Grant Request Recommendation: That Report CO 01-05 from Chair of the Waterfront Coordinating Committee, respecting a request from the Waterfront Coordinating Committee for a one-time Grant of $5,000.00, to offset the cost of a one- day Strategic Planning Session and consulting services, be received and approved; and That this grant be subject to matching funding by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority of $5,000.00; and That this grant be allocated in Account 2195 (Grants to Organizations & Individuals). Executive Summary: Not Applicable Financial Implications: $5,000.00 Background: At the December 9th, 2004 and February 10th, 2005 Waterfront Coordinating Committee meetings, recommendations were approved to hold a one-day Strategic Planning Session to build a Business Plan Framework for integrating stormwater management, public access (waterfront trail), aquatic/terrestrial habitat, boating and community stewardship. Report CO 01-05 Subject: Waterfront Coordinating Committee - Grant Request Date: March 2, 2005 Page 2 It was further decided that the funding for this Planning Session would be shared equally between the City of Pickering and the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority along with John McMullen, Coordinator, Landscape & Park Development, City of Pickering, have arranged for two facilitators who would participate in this Planning Session at a cost of $10,000, if approved.
