That Council nominate City Residents for appointment to SeCAC; and That the City Clerk contact the nominees to determine their interest in such an appointment and report back to Council; and That the appropriate officials of the City of Pickering be authorized to take the necessary actions to give effect thereto. Executive Summary: Not applicable Financial Implications: Not applicable Background: The Region of York requires increased sanitary sewer capacity to meet the demands of new development. As a result the Region of York is required to conduct an Individual Environment Assessment. In this regard the Region of York is seeking the appointment by Pickering Council of three interested residents to an Advisory Committee to review alternate routes for a Southeast Collector Sanitary Sewer, which will connect York to the Duffin Creek Sewage Treatment Plant with increased capacity. This new sewer line will have to pass through Pickering. Report CAO 08-05 Date: February 24, 2005 Subject: York Region (SeCAC) Page 2 City staff have contacted York Region staff and commenced discussions regarding Peer Review Funding and the possibility of a Community Benefit Agreement to compensate the City communities for the inconvenience during construction. Staff will report back to Council upon the receipt of "proposals" from York Region staff regarding the above two matters. This report deals solely with the nomination of possible SeCAC members.
