Boin8 a by-law to submit a question to the electors at the
municipal election to be held on November 10, 1997.
WI~REAS pur~nt to Section 8(1) of the Municipal Electiom Act, 1996, S.O. 1996, c.
32, as amended, the council ora municipality may pass a by-law to submit to its electors a
question not otherwi,~ anthori~xt by law but within the council's juri~liction;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The following question sludl b~ ~uhmitted to the electors at the regular municipal
election to be held on Novemb~ 10, 1997:
Ar, yo,, in favo-r of the Ontario Government holding a f-Il
Imbli¢ h~ring to i~ h~ld under the Environmental Assessment
Act of Ontario prior to any d~isious being made to r~tart the
Pi~J~ring "A" Nnd~r Generating Station as well as to the
continued operation of the Picketing "B" Nuclear Generating
Station:
2. The Clerk of the Corporation of the Town of Pickerin8 shall sum up the number of
votes in the affirmative end in the negative on the said question and declare and
post the results of the vote pursuant to the requiremem of the Municipal Election,
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 6th day of October, 1997.
