THE CORpoRATION OF THE TOwN OF PIC RING
BY-LAW NUMBER 503I~97 _~
Being a By-law to amend RestriCted Area (Zoning) By-law 2520 as amended, to
implement the Official Plan of the Town of Pickering District Planning Area, Kegion of
Durham. (A 26/96)
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering deems it desirable to add
the definition of professional office and use in thc parent by-law;
AND WHEREAS an amendment to By-law 2520, as amended, is therefore deemed necessary;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. TEXT AMENDMENT
(1)Section 2, DEFINITIONS, of By-law 2520 is hereby amended by adding thereto thc
following definition:
2.68.1 Professional Office
"Professional Office shall mean a building or part of a building in which
medical, legal or other professional service is performed or consultation
given, and which may include a clinic, the offices of an architect, a
chartered accountant, an engineer, a lawyer or a physician, but shall not
include a body-rub parlour as defined in section 224 (9)(b) of the
Municipal Act, ,~..S.O. 1990, Chapter M.45, as amended from time to
time, or any successor thereto;
(2) Subsection 10.1, USES PERMITTED (Local Commercial Zone C1) of By-law
2520 is hereby amended by adding thereto the following use:
"professional office"
By-law 2520, as amended, is hereby further amended only to the extent necessary to give
effect to the provisions of this By-law. Definitions and subject matters not specifically
dealt with in this By-law shall be governed by relevant provisions of By-law 2520, as
amended.
3. EFFECTIVE DATE
This By-law shall take effect from thc day of passing hereof subject to the approval of thc
Ontario Municipal Board, if required.
