HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 3875/91THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER 3875/91 Being a by-law to adopt Amendment Number 68 to the District Plan for the Town of Picketing WHEREAS pursuant to the Planning Act, 1983, S.O. 1983, c. 1, subsections 17(6) and 21(1), the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing ma~, by by-law adopt amendments to the District Plan for the Town of Picketing, being an officml plan, and submit them to the Minister of Municipal Affairs for approval; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. Amendment Number 68 to the District Plan for the Town of Pickering, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and including the Explanatory Text, is hereby adopted. The Clerk of the Town of Pickering is hereby authorized and directed to submit Amendment Number 68 to the District Plan for the Town of Pickering to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs for approval. 3. This By-law shall come into force and take effect on the day of the final passing hereof. By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 15th day of October ,199l. TAYLOR ~:OWN OF PICKEF~ING APPROVEO AS TO FORM Exhibit"A" to By-law 3875/91 AMENDMENT NO. 68 TO THE TOWN OF PICKERING DISTRICT PLAN (TOWN CENTRE COMMUNITY PLAN) AMENDMENT NO. 68 TO THE TOWN OF PICKERING DISTRICT PLAN (TOWN CENTRE COMMUNITY PLAN) PURPOSE: The purpose of this amendment is to permit the storage, distribution, servicing and rental of light ~ndustrial tools and equipment, and accessory retail and outdoor storage. LOCATION: The subject lands are approximately 0.4 hectares in size and are located at the southwest corner of Notion Road and Kingston Road. The lands are ~generally described as Part of Lot 17, Concession 1, Town of Pickenng. BASIS: The amendment has been determined to be appro, priate because it allows for the continuation, upgrading and expansion of an existing business that serves the broad community, and provides an appropriate buffer between the residential area to the west and the heavy industrial area to the east. ACTUAL AMENDMENT: The Town of Pickering District Plan (Town Centre Community Plan) is hereby amended by: 1. Adding a new Section 3.0 as follows: 3.0 Other Uses In accordance with Section 5Cl.(f) of Part I of the Picketing District Plan, "Other Uses" that are more appropriately located on lands designated for industrial purposes may also be permitted, subject to an amendment to this Community Plan and a site-specific amendment to the Zoning By-law. The l,o,,c, ation of such uses shall be identified by the notation 'I' on Schedule VII-A. These areas are described below: (a) On the southwest corner of Kingston Road and Notion Road - the storage, distril~ution, servicing and rental of light industrial tools and equipment may also be permitted. In addition, an accessory retail component and limited outdoor storage may be permitted, but only in conjunction with these uses and subject to appropriate provisions in the zoning by-law. Amending Schedule VII-A as indicated in Exhibit "A" attached to this Amendment. IMPLEMENTATION: The provisions set forth in the Town of Picketing District Plan, as amended, regarding the implementation of the Plan shall apply in regard to this Amendment. INTERPRETATION: The provisions set forth in the Town of Picketing District Plan, as amended, regarding the interpretation of the Plan shall apply in regard to this Amendment.
