HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 3873/91THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKER1NG BY-LAW NUMBER 3873/91 Being a by-law to adopt Amendment Number 66 to the District Plan for the Town of Picketing WHEREAS pursuant to t,.h.e Planning Act, 1983, S.O. 1983, c. 1, subsections 17(6) and 21(1), the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering ma), by by-law adopt amendments to the District Plan for the Town of Pickering, being an official plan, and submit them to the Minister of Municipal Affairs for approval; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. Amendment Number 66 to the District Plan for the Town of Picketing, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and including the Explanatory Text, is hereby adopted. 2. The Clerk of the Town of Pickering is hereby authorized and directed to submit Amendment Number 66 to the District Plan for the Town of Picketing to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs for approval. 3. This By-law shall come into force and take effect on the day of the final passing hereof. TAYOR Exhibit "A" to By-law 3873/91 AMENDMENT NO. 66 TO THE TOWN OF PICKERING DISTRICT PLAN (TOWN CENTRE COMMUNITY PLAN) AMENDMENT NO. 66 TO THE TOWN OF PICKERING DISTRICT PLAN (TOWN CENTRE COMMUNITY PLAN) PURPOSE: The purpose of this amendment is to permit residential high density development and associated convenience commercial uses on the subject lands. LOCATION: The subject lands are approximately 1.5 hectares in size and are located on the south side of Kingston Road east of Southview Drive. The lands are generally described as Part of Lots 2-5, Plan 469, Town of Pickering. BASIS: The amendment has been determined to be appropriate because of the desirability of permitting higher residentialdensities in strategic locations along the major roads in the Town, the proximity of the subject lands to commercial, community and recreational facilities, and the ability of the proposal to be developed in a compatible fashion with abutting lands. ACTUAL AMENDMENT: The Town of Pickering District Plan (Town Centre Community Plan) is hereby amended by: Deleting in its entirety, Clause, 3.E.(a) and replacing it with the following: (a) In the remainder of the Town Centre Community, Medium Density I Residential development shall be encouraged, except where intensificatmn of strategic sites is considered desirable and appropriate for the Community, and except on the lands situated immediately east of Brock Road and south of Finch Avenue. Deleting in its entirety, Clause 3.E.(O and replacing it with the following: (f) In the Brock East Area, medium density and high density residential development shall be permitted in accordance with the relevant provisions outlined in Subsection 5A2 of Part 1 of the Picketing District Plan. Amending Schedule VII-A as indicated in Exhibit "A" attached to this Amendment. IM PLEM ENTATION: The provisions set forth in the Town of Pickering District Plan, as amended, regarding the implementation of the Plan shall apply in regard to this Amendment. INTERPRETATION: The provisions set forth in the Town of Pickering District Plan, as amended, regarding the interpretation of the Plan shall apply in regard to this Amendment.
