TO PROVIDE FOR THE PRESERVATION OF PUBLIC MORALS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF
THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING,
IMERNAS by the provisions of the Revised Statutes of Ontario power is
wen to Councils of Township Municipalities to pass by-laws for certain
purposes.
BE IT HRACTED by the Municipal Council of the Corporation of
the Township of Fickoringt
1. It shall not be lawful to post up or exhibit placards, play bills,
posters, writings or pictures, or to write words, or to make pictures
or drawings, which are indecent or may tend to corrupt or demoralize,
on any wall or (once or elsewhere on any highway or in any public
place in the said municipality.
2. It shall not be lawful for any person to utter any profane oath, or
obsoone, blasphemous or grossly insulting language, or to commit any
other immorality or indecency in the said municipality.
3. It shall not be lawful for any person to be intoxicated or guilty of
disorderly conduct in any street, highway or public place, or at any
public meeting held for a lawful purpose, in the said municipality.
4. It shall not be lawful for any person to keep a house of ill rams,
or to harbour persons of bad character, in the said municipality.
5. It shall not be lawful for any person to keep a gambling house, or
to allow gambling on his or her promises within the said municipality.
8. It shall not be lawful for any person to indecently oxpose his or
her at or near any public highway or other public place in the said
municipality.
7. Any person contravening any of the provisions of this By-Law shall,
upon conviction before a Police Magistrate or Justice of the Peaces
be liable to a fine not exceeding 150*00 for each offence, such fine
to be recovorable under The Summary Convictions Act.
8. All ponalites recovered under this By-Law shall be p41d over to the
Treasurer of the said municipality, for the use of the said municipal-
ity.
9e By-Law Noe 743 and all other By-laws or parts of By-laws contrary to
or inconsistent with any of the provisions of this by-law be and the
same are hereby repealed.
