Being a by-law to amend By-law Number 1887/84 to licence
and regulate certain classes of businesses in the Town of
Pickering.
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing enacted By-law
Number 1887/84 on July 30, 1984 to licence and regulate certain classes of businesses in
the Town of Pickering; and
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to amend By-law Number 1887/84 to amend the
licence fee payable by a person operating a market;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. Section 11 of By-law Number 1887/84, as amended by By-law Number 4170/93,
is hereby deleted and the following substituted therefore:
11. Upon application on the prescribed form for a licence for a market or
proposed market, a licence may be issued on payment ora fee o~
1) $200.00 per operating day where the market is comprised of less
than 100 stalls,
2) $1,000 per operating day where the market is comprised of 100 or
more stalls,
3) For the purpose of this section, the word "stall" shall mean an area
within a market from which a person is selling a product or service.
2. This by-law shall take effect as of January 1, 1994.
3. By-law N, mher 4170/93 is hereby repealed.
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 6th day of February,
1995.
