BY-LAW NUMBER 4562/95
Being a by-law to amend By-law Number 2439/87 to
regulate signs in the Town of Pickering.
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing enacted By-law
Number 2439/87 on April 6, 1987 to regulate signs in the Town of Picketing; and
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to amend the provisions of that By-law to prohibit the
installation of large billboard-type signs throughout the Town;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. Section 3(l)(a) of By-law Number 2439/87 is hereby deleted and the following
substituted therefore:
3(l)(a) One sign, except billboard signs (but not including lighted signs of
the flaahing or animated type), not exceeding one square metre in
area advertising boarding, lodging or tourist accommodation on the
lot on which such sign is located.
2. Section 3(2Xa) of the said By-law is hereby deleted and the following substituted
therefore:
3(2)(a) Two signs of any type except the flashing or animated signs or
billboard signs.
3. Section 3(4)(a) of the said By-law is hereby amended by deleting therefore the
words "or one Billboard sign".
4. Section 3(5Xd) of the said By-law is hereby deleted.
5. Section 10(1) of the said By-law is hereby deleted.
By-law read a first and second time this 6th day of February, 1995.
By-law read a third time and finally passed this 20th day of February, 1995.
