By-law No. 8206/25
Being a by-law to appoint Tariq Mahmood as Municipal Law
Enforcement Officer for the purpose of enforcing the by-laws of
The Corporation of the City of Pickering.
Whereas pursuant to section 15(1) of the Police Services Act R.S.O. 1990 Cp 15, as
amended, a municipal council may appoint persons to enforce the by-laws of the municipality;
and
Whereas pursuant to section 15 (2) of the said Act, municipal by-law enforcement officers are
peace officers for the purpose of enforcing municipal by-laws;
Now therefore the Council of The Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby enacts as follows:
1.Tariq Mahmood is hereby appointed as a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer in and for
the City of Pickering in order to ascertain whether the provisions of all by-laws of The
Corporation the City of Pickering are obeyed and to enforce or carry into effect the said
by-laws.
2.This appointment shall expire upon the employee noted in Section 1 ceasing to be
employed by the City of Pickering or until the repeal of this by-law.
3.The provisions of this by-law shall come into force and take effect on the day of the final
passing thereof.
