And Whereas the Council of The City of Pickering requires an amendment to By-law 8190/25. And Whereas Section 19(1.1)(c) of the Act allows for a by-law to be amended without the requirement for a development charge background study as well as the need for a public meeting if the only effect of the amendment is to decrease the amount of a development charge that is payable for one or more types of development in the circumstances specified in the amendment, and are therefore not provided in the amended By-law. And Whereas a public notice will be made available to inform the public that By-law 8190/25 has been amended. Now therefore the Council of The Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby enacts as follows: 1.That Section 1 of By-law 8190/25, be amended to add a new Item (3)(e) as follows: Notwithstanding Section 1.(3)(c), no requirement shall apply for the applicant to provideproof that the building being demolished was previously subject to and paiddevelopment charges under a prior development charge by-law or that a lot levy underBy-law 3322/89 was paid, in respect of any demolition or redevelopment occurringbetween July 1, 2025 and December 31, 2026.
