Doody-Hamilton Seconded by L. Jeffrey That the Heritage Pickering Advisory Committee Meeting Agenda of April 23, 2025 be approved. Carried 2. Disclosure of Interest No disclosures of interest were noted. 3. Approval of Minutes Moved by L. Jeffrey Seconded by J. White That the January 22, 2025 Meeting Minutes be approved. Carried 4. Delegations There were no delegations 5. New Business Page 2 of 3 Item/ Ref # Details & Discussion & Conclusion (summary of discussion) Action Items/Status (include deadline as appropriate) 5.1 Draft 2024 Year-End Report and 2025 Workplan M. Somerville provided an overview of the 2024 Year-End Report and 2025 Workplan, highlighting the various accomplishments of the Committee and the various projects that the Committee would be engaged in throughout 2025. Discussion ensued amongst the Committee regarding: • concerns regarding the poor condition of Brougham Hall; • the Northeast Pickering Secondary Plan and how buildings of cultural interest will be incorporated into the area as it is developed; • whether guidelines would be developed for cultural heritage buildings in North East Pickering; and, • whether any Transport Canada lands (former Airport lands) have been transferred to the City Moved by C. Doody-Hamilton Seconded by R. Smiles That the 2024 Year-End Report and 2025 Workplan be adopted. Carried 6. Other Business 6.1 Update regrading Cemeteries in Pickering M. Somerville provided the Committee an overview of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) Public Register online search tool, and both the active and inactive cemeteries sites listed within Pickering. 6.2 Whitevale District Residents Association Spring Festival M. Somerville informed the Committee about the Spring Festival hosted by Whitevale District Residents Association scheduled on May 25, 2025 at the Whitevale Community Centre.
