Pursuant to Part VI.1 of the Municipal Act, 2001

Direction to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and the Director, Finance &
Treasurer, to compile information regarding costs incurred with respect to the
proposed development of Cherrywood
In accordance with subsection 284.3 of the Municipal Act, 2001 (the “Act”), the Mayor
hereby directs the CAO and the Director, Finance & Treasurer to:
1.Compile information pertaining to the direct costs paid by the City of Pickering
with respect to any and all external professional consulting services that were
provided to the City in relation to the proposed development of the Cherrywood
lands;
2.That the compilation include any other indirect costs including costs associated
with internal resources expended to date;
3.That the information be provided to the Mayor to initiate a request to the Province
of Ontario for reimbursement of said costs; and,
4. That a copy of the letter to the Province be provided to all Members of Council for
their information and to the City Clerk for inclusion on the October 23, 2023
Council agenda under Correspondence.
This Direction takes effect on September 25, 2023 and remains in effect unless and
until it is revoked in writing by the Mayor.
