HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 3697/91THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER 3697/91 Being a by-law to appoint a Director of Public Works for the Corporation of the Town of Pickering (Mr. Stephen A. Vokes). Whereas pursuant to section 208.45 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980, chapter 302, as amended, the council of a municipality may pass by-laws for appointing such officers and servants as may be necessary for the purposes of the Corporation; and Whereas pursuant to section 210.60 of the said Act, by-laws may be passed by the councils of local municipalities for appointing one or more engineers and an engineer so appointed and his assistants, in the performance of their duties, possess all the powers, rights and privileges that a surveyor possesses under section 6 of the Surveys Act; and Whereas pursuant to section 3 (2) of the Building Code Act, R.S.O. 1080, chapter 51, as amended, the council of each municipality shall appoint a chief building official and such inspectors as are necessary for the purposes of the enforcement of the Act in the areas in which the municipality has jurisdiction; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: Mr. Stephen A. Vokes is hereby Works for the Corporation of the the duties of the Director until is terminated. appointed Director of Public Town of Pickering to carry out such time as this appointment Mr. Stephen A. Vokes is hereby appointed as Engineer to act on behalf of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering pursuant to section 210.60 of the Municipal Act. 3. Mr. Stephen A. Vokes is hereby appointed as Chief Building Official pursuant to Section 3 (2) of the Building Code Act. 4. The appointments previously made in any manner of Raymond J. Hutchinson to any of the offices referred to in Sections l, 2, and 3 above are hereby repealed. 5. This by-law shall be effective on May 21, 1991. By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 15th day of April, 1991. Mayor
