BY-LAW NUMBER 3632/91
Being a by-law to designate the Hamlet of
Whitevale in the Town of Picketing as a
Heritage Conservation District
WHEREAS pursuant to Section 40 of Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O.
1980, on March 16, 1987, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering passed resolution 24/87, #5 to include provisions relating to the
establishment of heritage district designations in the Pickering District
Plan; and
WHEREAS on November 10, 1989, the Minister of Municipal Affairs
Amendment Number 55 which incorporates heritage conservation policies
Pickering District Plan; and

WHEREAS an examination of the Hamlet of Whitevale Heritage Conservation Study
Area has been completed; and
WHEREAS Section 41 of the said Ontario Heritage Act enables the Council of a
municipality to designate by by-law an area as a heritage conservation
district where there is in effect in a municipality an official plan that
contains provisions relating to the establishment of heritage conservation
districts;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING HEREBY
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
The area known as the Hamlet of Whitevale Heritage Conservation
District as illustrated in Schedule "A" attached hereto is designated
as a heritage conservation district.
2. This by-law shall not take effect until approved by the Ontario
Municipal Board.

1991.
