By-law No. 7895/22
Being a by-law to fill the vacant seat for the Office of City
Councillor, Ward 2
Whereas at its meeting held on November 22, 2021, Pickering City Council declared the Office
of City Councillor, Ward 2 vacant;
And Whereas the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25, (the “Act”), requires that within 60
days after the day a declaration of vacancy is made, the municipality must fill the vacancy by
holding a by-election or by appointing a qualified individual who has consented to accept the
office if appointed;
And Whereas at its meeting held on November 22, 2021, City Council authorized the filling of
the vacant seat by appointing an individual from the public by soliciting applications;
Now therefore the Council of The Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby enacts as follows:
_________________________ is hereby appointed to fill the vacant seat of the Office of City
Councillor, Ward 2 for the remainder of the 2018 – 2022 Term of Council.
By-law passed this 13th day of January, 2022.
