BY-LAW NO, 4926/97
Being a by-law to appoint a Temporary Acting
Treasurer-Collector.
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 77(3) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter M.45, as amended,
when the office of the Treasurer is vacant or the Treasurer is unable to carry on his or her duties through
illness or otherwise, the Council may appoint a Temporary Acting Treasurer who shall have all the
powers and duties of the Treasurer;
AND WHEREAS, pursuant to section 85(1) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter M.45, as
amended, the Council may appoint as many Collectors for the municipality as it considers necessary;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That Inga Berrey be and is hereby appointed as a Temporary Acting Treasurer-Collector for The
Corporation of the Town of Pickering; and
2. That the duties of the said Temporary Acting Treasurer-Collector shall be those defined in the
Assessment Act and the Municipal Act, as amended, together with those duties prescribed by
Council from time to time.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 10th day of February, 1997.
