A meeting of Pickering Township Council was held on MONDAY.
the NINTH day of MARCH. 196~. at EIGHT o'clock p. m.

A letter was read from Barcla~ Transport Limited. which stated
that 13 years ago they had bu~lt and since maintained the north
5/l0 mile of road between Lots ~ and 5 in Concession 5, and
that under a verbal agreement were permitted to draw full loads
in half-load season, and that this year the road is posted for
half loads. They asked that this privilege be extended. See
Resolution No. 65/64.
RESOLUTION NUMBER 65/64
MOVED by Mr. Newman. seconded by Mr. Wank, that due to the fact
that Mr. Barclay has had a verbal agreement with a Road Foreman
for thirteen years, and due to the fact that he did not know of
its termination until a sign was posted recently, therefore
the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Pickering
will allow him to finish this year's operation providing he
maintain the road to the engineer's specifications and post the
necessary bond. This agreement to expire at the end of 196~.

Reeve Laycox reported that several members of Council had met
the Council of the Township of Uxbridge. and that Council had
agreed to enter into an agreement with the Township of Pickering
that for the yearly sum of $200.00 in lieu of taxes. they would
permit us to purchase a 70 acre gravel pit in the Township of
Uxbridge. Reeve Laycox advised them that his Council would
consider.
On MOTION of Mr. Newman. seconded by Mr. Campbell. Council
adjourned at 9 o'clock p. m.
