The following CORRESPONDBNCE was read:
1. Ør.Wilson, Attorney-General's Department, asked Council to show cause
WhY the Township should not police that part of the Township which lies
north of Concession 3 line.
2. u,. Jerry, Ontario Water Resources Commission, submits report on baoter-
iological count in RoU&e River - 40 near lake and 200 at Highway 2 which
is exceptionally good.

"We, the members of the Piokering Township Game Co-.dssion, feel that
the present game laws are adequate if enforced properly. We do think
that Council should stop shooting in certain areas that are built up
and densely populated, suoh as at Squire's Beach".

fi1ternational Credit Union Day, October 15, 1959, by publishing proo-

Our Solicitor, Mr. Hassarel, submitted a By-law to require yards to be
put in a safe condition; also a By-law to prohibit manufactories and
trades which are considered undesirable. As Mr. Hassard was not sat-
isfied with the By-Jaws, he asked that they be considered 4raft by-laws
for discussion otCouncil.
JIr. St,vens, ourSo1-icitor, recollllDends that all By-laws do not give
section of' theAet ·1Øtder which they are prepared, as it makes the.
more cumbersome.

19th, and asked Council's permission f'or his tamily of' tour to live in

RESOLUTION NUMBER 276
MOVED by Mr. Spang, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, that Mr.J. Lyons be
permitted to erect or build on Lot 23 temporary buildings for living
quarters on his premises until nine months of" time which Mr. ~ons
promises to be erected a permanent hOlDe. CARRIED
BY-LAW NUMBER 2437
Mrs. McPherson, seconded by Miss Swan, moves for leave to introduce a
By-Law of the Township of Pickering to appoint a Road Superintendent in
the Township of Pickering, and that same now be read a first time.
Mrs. XcPherson, seconded by Mr. Spang, moves that By-Law Number 2437 to
appoint a ,Road Superintendent in the Township of Pickering be now read
a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon.
The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read.
Mrs. McPherson, seconded by Mr. Ashton, moves that the report of the
Co~ittee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2437 be adopted, and that the said
ay-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk
sigñ the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto.

of the Township of Pickering to name a date, hour and place for receiving

be read a first time.
Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Hawthorne, moves that By-Law Number 2438 to
name a date, hour and place for receiving nominations and the taking of
votes for elections of Council members for year 1960 and electing trustees
for the School Areas be now read a second time, and that Council go into
Committee of the Whole thereon.
Tbe Co.-1ttee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read.

of the Whole on Dr-Law No. 2438 be adopted, and that the said By-Law be
