Reeve Scott explained that the Shaw Contracting firm for Consl~ers' Gas

ny-Law adopted an a~reement between Const~ers' Gas Company an~ The
Township and specifier'! that the senior official of the Itoad Department
was responsible for the approval of sites for the gas lines; that
\fr. .Tefferson asked direction of Council if such line was to be moved

and that this was the only ni;ht avai1al)le to him for 14 days for a

Mr. Jack ChaD man stat.ed that due to the condition of road, trees and
~1tches, etc., he considered the location of the main in prn~er place
a~'" that nl1mernUS ot"1er ,,;as main locations were similarly located in
the 1'o\vnship.
Mr. 1'. O. Jefferson said that he believed that the proposed mai~ was
properly located if the trees on roarlside were not to be cut and if
t"1e practice of not puttin; such a main nnder the telephone wires ,vere
adhered to, as in any case the ¿as main extending east of Valley Itoad
1'1ad to he on road sholl1:1er because of high bank, which will eventually
be partially removed; he was not clear where his duties ended and
Mr. Chapman's began and asked that such be defined.
Mr. Hassard gave as his opinion that. under the agreement with Consumers'
Gas Company Mr. Chapman had charge of locating gas mains until last
Monday night and since then that authority has been delegated to
'Mr. Jefferson.

Reeve Scott stated he had made enquiries aDout the house in Concession 4,
TJot 13, being built in a '~atercourse an-i finr1s that such location ha1 been
approved by the Tmv'1ship Engineer subiect. to certain conditions.
Councillor Ashton sairl it had heen 'hrought to his attention that the mower
controlled by the Weed Inspector had done considerable damage to landscaping
of an owner on Susan Drive; that he would investigate and report.
On MOTION of Mr. James, the meeting adjourned.
