Welcome J. St. Amant welcomed everyone and advised of T. Ryce and S. Mathuria’s regrets. 2. Approval of Agenda & Minutes Agenda amendments – to defer the Work Plan to the March Meeting Motion: to approve agenda as amended. Moved: A. Revoy Seconded: K. St. Amant provided a review of the art policy and the hope for the Whitevale Community Centre art installations – community came to the City with the proposal. Unfortunately the staff person who was responsible for this resigned and the position has not yet been filled. 4. Pickering’s Canada 150 Plan J. St. Amant provided an overview of the City of Pickering’s Canada 150 plan  Number of grants have been applied for  Community Canvas project – introduced at the Mayor’s Levee- almost completed at Family Day event  Journey through Confederation – Youth Conference to be held on May 4th  Canada 150 Tour  PMV – Confederation Tea  Destination Pickering booth – Canada 150 green screen with Canada 150 theme  Tom Thompson exhibit at PMV  Other grants on upgrading facilities 5. Seaton New Homeowner Survey J. St. Amant noted a new homeowner survey will be given to new home purchasers through the builders. City is currently working on the Parks and Recreation Master Plan. 6. Work Plan 2017 Deferred to next meeting on March 21st due to T. Ryce’s absence. Work Plan 2017 to be added to March Agenda 7. Public Art Ontario 150 J. St. Amant provided information on the Grant Ontario 150 towards youth art showcase  Youth age 12 – 25 for the steering committee  Age 12 – 25 across Ontario to be on sub committees Page 3 of 3 Item/ Ref # Details & Discussion & Conclusion (summary of discussion) Action Items/Status (include deadline as appropriate)  Event for youth, run by youth  Theme is “I Am Ontario”  Show and sale  Youth art showcase on the stage  Workshops and seminars led by youth  Live performances and workshops  Looking for representative from CAC to be a part of the jury  Call for artist went out.  Postcards and poster was distributed  Mentor workshop components  Hands on activities – provided by youth Ontario artist activities  Art show and sale and workshop  Designated youth area at Artfest  Youth refreshment area  Visual Art Juried art display  Need to define what the art is to be – fine tuning where the installation is to be  T. Ryce to comment on the final budget on this  Everything in early April  To be displayed at the May 4th Journey to Confederation Consensus is the more information on where and how the installation is to take place. J. St. Amant provided information on the Diversity Committee he sits on. 8. Other Business None 9. Adjournment and next meeting.
