T. ,ES of the October 2nd, 1950, meeting were read, and on MOTIO~ of Mr. Bu~k, seconded by Mr. Todd, ADOPTED. The MINUTES of the October 10th, 1950, meeting were read, and on MOTI~( of Mr. Todd, seconded by Mr. Bu~k, ADOPTED. The MINUTES of the October 23rd, 1950, meeting were read, and on MOTI( of Mr. Bu~k, seconded by Mr. Todd, ADOPTED. The foilowing CORRESpOI~DENCE WAS READ:. 1. ~.L.Button, LSwyer for ROY BRIGNALL, asked that Council build a fence for Mr. Brignall On South end of Lot .18 in COnCession 8. The Clerk was ordered to advise that neither the Council nor Road Superintendent agreed to build a fence - Mr. B~ignall took dOWn hie fence and removed all the wood, and the Township clean, up the brush both inside and outside the.fence. 2. G. SIVITER complained about d~ainage and the roughness of the Scarboro' Town Line from No. 2A Highway to the Lake, Clerk to notify the $carboro' Township. 3. E.R. Edward Jones - Assessor - explained the new Provincial Manual and asked a salary of $2,700 per year and 8~ caf'mileage. 2. Mr~ Saunders, who operated.a welding plant in Plan 228, appeared and stated he had moved his business south of Cronkwright Garage, due to complaints of local owners. This was agreeable to Council. 3. F.J. Prouse asked iff C. Hall, who will put up $300. for building his house, requires to put up a further $300. to live in-basement. 4- John Balsdon and C.E.Morley - asked ownership of Norah Street in Picketing. 5- Mr. Caruso, Contractor, statedhe wished to build ~20 houses on Lot 31, Concession 1, and a further 780 on nearby land. He stated he would provide his own water supply- that he wished to build houses of 572 square feet - one floor and flat roof - that he had ample backing and would like to start in the Spring of 1951. It was recommended that he meet the Planning Board on F~iday night. 6. Mr. J. R. Martin - re water - f~e truck - and industrial site. 7. Mr. Sumner - re additional tank truck for new Fire Area at 8. Mr. Gilpin - Concession 3, Lot 27 - asked for the loan of a grader to build a good entrance to Forest Stream Park. Send bill to him at Cherrywood. 9. Cliff Schwalm asked for $1. for collecting bad 1950 dog tax accounts. 10. Messes Hillaru,and Sennett, Plan 350, Lot 117, asked that their culverts be 18 in width. MOVED by Mr. Zinkie the Assessor,s salary be $2,700. per yea~, plus 5~ ~ileage.~ NO S~CONDER. MOVED byM~. Todd, that CLARENCE HALL,, Plan 3300 b-~-~rmitted to live in cellar this winter, provided he take out his building permit and deposit $300. plus an additional $300. deposit to live in cellar. CARRIED' MOVED by M~. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Todd, that the Road SuPerintende p~--~ase new wrenches to replace ones stolen. CARRIED. MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Zinkie, that the Clerk contact Gore & Storrie and ask them to meet Council on December let, 1950, regarding water for South Picketing. CARRIED. MOVED by Mr. Zinkie, seconded by Mr. Burk, that Council purchase a F.W.D. fire truck as submitted F.R.50 T with standard equipment and 500 Imperial booster tank at cost of $16,000.00. CARRIED. Me~_~dbY Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Todd, that a donation of $10.00 · to the Ajax Poppy Fund for a wreath. CARRIED. MOVED by Mr. Bu~k, seconded by Mr. Zinkie, that Clifford ~chwalm be pa-'~$1.00 per dog on all bad 1950 dog tax accounts submitted by Assessor. C .A~RIED. MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Zin~e, that Harold Mitchell be-~ven one. 18' culvert, and that he pay for balance of necessary culvert, provided he donates the balance of $~0.00 on the $100. agreement. MOVED by Mr, Todd, seconded by Mr. Zinkie, that the Road Superintendel ca-~at the office every night. CARRIED. MOVED by Mr. Todd, seconded by Mr. Burk, that a Police Area_be ~ cr-~ed south of the Third Concession, and the Area pay two thiras, and the balance of the Township one-third, of police costs. MOTION LO; sby Mr. Todd, seconded by Mr. Burk, the Clerk search the try Office for ownership of Norah Street,Picketing. (2) Sideline between Township Lots 10 and 11 from No. 2 Highway to No. 2-A. Highway. (3) Sideline between Township Lots 14 and 15 from No. 2 Highway to . First Concession line. CLERK' S INSTRUCTIONS: 1. See the Medical Officer of Health about Spice. 2. Write Depar~aent of Highways about plugged culvert at entrance to Altona Road south approach to No. 2 Highway. 3. Advise ~ohn Pallister that he must take hie cella~ d~ain to a proper outlet. Advise Road Superintendent to erect a 30-MXle spee~ limit sign opposite No. 3 W.
