[ Secretary directed to inquire what membership fee is® Che Chairman reported that the owner of one of the lots at the rear Eof' the museum has named the price for the parcel at $3,000. Er, Miller recoumended that the lot purchased from Mrs. Gillman be Esurveyed, together with the adjoining lot . AGREED that Hr. Eiller will ask D. J . Plitz , Township Clerk, if he will get a price on such a survey. Mrs licPherson will give L , him a name to contact. _ lir, Miller reported that the fence around the museum was not L . started yet, and he needed some assistance to peel the posts . He suggested the fence be put in front of museum building. C Mr. Parkin said he would like to see a gatehouse at the entrance - 'a place to house supplies, and from which to offer literature and articles for sale . [ A pedestrian entrance and 16-foot gateway will be placed at the same place in front of the museum. 1 EET. 1:iller agreed to contact the electrician, hr. L. Carruthers , again to inspect and repair wiring, and furnish outlets . j 1 hrs . Fallis has advised that two wooden boxes made by Peter L Matthews arc. displayed in Fort York. Since Peter Matthews resided and was buried in Pickering Township , the secretary was instructed to ask if one of the boxes could be donated to L Pickering Township Museum. 1 , L L. HISTORY IN ACTION 1 , E AGREED that the suggestions made by Mrs . Donaldson be tabled for L the moment, except those relating to History in Action day. lir. Miller to report at next meeting on conducting rides through the village of Brougham. L Parking - suggested that Boy Scouts be in charge . Secretary to contact Ken Ransay, LRefreshments - Mrs. LePherson suggested that pancakes and syrup be served, and it was agreed that these and other foods im.keeping with pioneer days be served . AGRE:D that notices be sent to ask L , ladies to bake for the homemade baking sale . AGRE:D that Food Committee be comprised of Miss Anderson, Convenor; L _ Lrs . Charles Fuller, [ Tractor - Secretary to contact Mr. Forman Anderson to ask if he I would supervise repair of the tractor he donated, and drive it r- t.. on History story in Action day. It was suggested that Mr. 'Talker assist. Knitting Machine - Mr . Parkin will set up and knit sock. L Cider - firs. 7',isebrot contact Lappin 's Cider Mill and ask for donation of hogsheads of cider. Suggestion that Mr. 1isebrot and Mr. Overholt assist with this demonstration. Parkin will set up wooden pins used for barn timbers. 1; LOR BUSINESS It was reported that Er. J. Faulkner received a cut on the head by the sign over the booth while on duty at the museum. Mr. Miller L will undertake to elevate the sign. h , The committee was advised that Hr. J. C . 7.. Irwin, ',rhitevale , L complimented the committee on the work they were doing with little financial assistance , forwarded a donation of 300 , and contibuted l0 at the Strawberry Festival, Secretary has acknewledged, 1 [..0 OnlhOTIOY the meeting adjourned.
