SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
A Special Meeting of the Pickering Town Council was held on Monday, December 15,
1997 at 7: 10 p.m.

AUTHORITY TO MEET IN CAMERA
Resolution #465/97
Moved by Councillor Dickerson
Seconded by Councillor Holland
That pursuant to Section 55(7) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, c M.45, as amended,
the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a
meeting to consider a matter of litigation.

Seconded by Councillor Holland
That Confidential Legal Services Report L 195/97 regarding Quartz Street be received~
and
That the Town enter into an arrangement with 802226 Ontario Limited for payment of its
outstanding debt to the Town in to amount of$34,051.70 in accordance with the proposal
set out in Legal Services Report L 195/97; and
That the Mayor and Clerk execute all necessary documentation required to give effect
thereto~ and
That the Town Solicitor be authorized to accept an initial payment of $17,000.00 fÌ'om the
owner subject to all interest since June 1, 1993 being paid and that a reserve be established
to the purpose of controlling ingress and egress to the subject lands; and
That By-law 5178/97 to dedicate those Parts of Lot 18, Concession 1, Pickering,
designated as Parts 14 and 15 on Plan 40R-I0635 (Quartz Street) as a public highway be
read a first, second and third time and enacted.
