Brenner D. Dickerson M. Holland D. Pickles D. Ryan ABSENT: R Johnson (family business) - ALSO PRESENT: T. 1. Quinn N. Carroll B. Gajadharsingh B. Taylor 1. Parent - Chief Administrative Officer - Director, Planning & Development - Division Head, Human Resources - City Clerk - Supervisor of Human Resources In AUTHORITY TO MEET IN CAMERA Resolution #73/00 Moved by Councillor Seconded by Councillor That pursuant to Section 55(7) of the Municipal Act, RS.O. 1990, c MA5, as amended, the Council of the Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a meeting to consider a personnel matter and a land transaction. - CARRIED --2-- lID RESOLUTIONS Resolution #74/00 -- Moved by Mayor Arthurs Seconded by Councillor Ryan That Confidential City Solicitor's Report L 14-00 regarding the disposal of lands being part of Pleasant Street, Plan 65, Pickering, be received; and That the City Solicitor be authorized to commence the process to stop-up, close and sell that part of Pleasant Street, Plan 65, Pickering (North Commerce Street) and authorize the City Solicitor to make the necessary arrangements to obtain the required documentation to finalize the matter. TABLED Council passed the following motion in conjunction with Resolution #74/00: Resolution #74/00( a) Moved by Councillor Dickerson Seconded by Councillor Ryan That Resolution #74/00 be tabled. - CARRIED am BY-LAWS That Councillor Brenner seconded by Mayor Arthurs took leave to introduce a by-law of the City of Pickering: By-law Number 5668/00 Being a by-law to repeal By-laws 3801/91 and 4110192 to establish certain benefits for non-union employees and to amend By-law 682/77 to define and determine the duties and responsibilities of the Chief Administrative Officer. THIRD READING: Councillor Brenner seconded by Mayor Arthurs moved that By-law Number 5668/00 be adopted and the said by-law be now read a third time and PASSED and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and the seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED - Mayor Arthurs provided Members of Council with a verbal report respecting Veridian Inc. --3-- Resolution #75/00 Moved by Councillor Ryan Seconded by Councillor Holland - That the verbal report by Mayor Arthurs to Members of Council regarding Veridian Inc. be received. CARRIED Councillor Pickles stated that he has had discussions with the City Solicitor respecting an easement on the Mill property on the north side of Whitevale Road and asked that a report on this issue be brought to Council.
