RECOMMENDAT[ON:
That the application for a Camival Licence submitted by Bowmanville Zoo operated by Savannah
Land Corporation and Bowmanville Zoological Park Ltd. to conduct a cnmival at the Metro East
Trade Centre on Saturday, June 12, 1999 and Sunday, June 13, 1999 be approved.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
To approve an application for e camivai licence at the Metro East Trade Ccnlre.
BACKGROUND:
M application has been received Gom Bowmanville Zoo operated by Savannah Land Corporation
end Bowmanville Zoological Park Lld, to conduct Elephant Ridcs et the Metro East Trade Centre
on Saturday, ]une 12th, and Sunday, Junc 13t1i This will be camed out on a portion of the west
perking lot at the METC and be blocked by the METC from the residential subdivision to ihe
west.

In accordance with By-law Number 5479/99 (Carnivals), the applicant has paid the appropriato
licena fa, submitted e letter of permission from the property owner to conduct the camival, and
has provided an insurence certiflcate in the amount of three million dollars neming the Town as
an addilionnl insured.
I would rceommend thet Council approvu this epplication as they camply with the terms of By-
law 5479/99 and should be considered as responsible cernival operators until they prove
othenvise.
