ADOPTION OF MINUTES of February 4, 1992
1 . Ron Halliday and his agent, Ted Cicierua, and Catherine Rose of
the Planning Department will be present to discuss the proposed
development at Whites Road and Finch Avenue.
2. Heritage Permit Application by C. Keffer: The Committee's
recommendation to Council was referred back to the Committee in
order for Mr. Keffer's requests to be reconsidered:
Listed below are the recommendations, following which are Mr.
Keffer's comments:
1 ) that the roof line is not higher than 25 feet;
Mr. Keffer requested a maximum height of 28 feet
2) that the front of the building facing the street be
stuccoed and that horizontal siding be permitted on the
two sides and back of building only;
Mr. Keffer requested horizontal siding around the entire
building
3) that the colour of the siding and stucco match;
The siding colour will be the same around the building
4) that there be a straight roof line;
Mr. Keffer requested a break in the roof line
5) that the keystones over the windows be removed-.
The keystones will be removed

Dear Mr. Marshall:
We are pleased to announce the publication of a new two-volume beautifully
illustrated history of Ontario in celebration of 200 years of provincehood dating
back to the first opening of Upper Canada's Parliament in 1792, and in commemoration
of the 125th anniversary of our entrance into Confederation. Superbly printed, in
hard cover, this major work not only presents fascinating narrative describing the
people and events that have shaped our province, but also is an elegant showpiece
that will be enjoyed for generations.
The work entitled, ONTARIO: A Celebration of our Heritage, is authored by the
distinguished and eminent Canadian historian, Dr. J.M.S. Careless, O.C.,O.Ont. (His
biography is enclosed) . Richly illustrated throughout, with hundreds of historical
photographs, maps, and documents, many in full colour, the heritage of Ontario is
presented in a popular, easy-to-read style. The books will be extensively
distributed across the country through schools, libraries, bookstores, cultural
institutions, and corporations using them for gift-giving or special promotions.
One chapter entitled, "Partners in Progress", is devoted exclusively to the history
of commerce and industry in the province, using the biographies of individual
organizations to tell the story. While providing corporate support for this
publication, thee. "business biographies' will reflect a broad spectrum of industry
across Ontario, thereby demonstrating the role of individual enterprises in the
building of this province.
We wish to invite your participation in this major publishing event. A biography of
your firm or organization would be a permanent testament to the contributions and
growth of your organization, and an important capsule history which will be read by
employees, friends, students, and citizens of Canada for decades.
