PRESENT: Celia Bronkhorst Enrico Pistritto Henry Lawman Kim Thompson Janet Mehak Dave Pickles Anna Willson Konrad Zeh STAFF: Debbie Kearns, Councillors' Secretary ABSENT: Janice Waithe Huberty (Family Emergency) Brian Hern Frank Williamson VISITORS FROM WHITEVALE: Julia Hayes 1. Adoption of Minutes • Moved by Henry Lawman, seconded by Janet Mehak that the Minutes of the Meeting of October 7, 1992 be adopted. Carried - 2 - 2. Property at 1931 Fairport Road Celia Bronkhorst stated that the property at 1931 Fairport Road is a fairly new home and that she feels there may be a mistake in the address stated on the letter from the lawyer's office. Celia will verify the address with the lawyer's office. 3. 1993 Budget Kim Thompson reported that she spoke with Bruce Taylor concerning LACAC's 1993 Budget and that she received a positive response. 4. Federal Lands Celia Bronkhorst and Janet Mehak stated that they are in the process of taking photo's of .the Federal Lands which are to be released. © /1' 49 1;C3&-�c n S ,�°` _�"4*(.4Q.- (p 444,1441,.... 5. Rene Soetens. M.P. Kim Thompson suggested that the Secretary send a letter to Rene Soetens requesting that he speak at a meeting of LACAC at his - earliest convenience. 6. LACAC Brochure Dave Pickles handed out copies of the proposed LACAC Brochure which he has prepared for comments by the Committee. The Secretary was requested to send a copy of the brochure to the Purchasing Department to obtain prices on the printing. The Committee were ,ask d to prep re cou���ents for Dave for the next meeting. 11 O •f! 7. Official Plan Celia Bronkhorst gave a short report on the two homes she feels are significant in the area she has reviewed. The remainder of the areas to be reviewed were taken by Henry Gawman, Area 11, Konrad Zeh, Area 5 and Celia Bronkhorst, Areas 6 and 10. The Committee were directed to have all information to the Secretary by November 20, 1992 for preparation for Anna Willson's meeting with the Planning Department of November 30, 1992. - 3 - 8. Whitevale Heritage Anna Willson distributed copies of a Report to Council she prepared concerning the map showing those properties of residents wishing to be exempt from designation. Comments were requested and Kim Thompson stated that she agreed with the concept but not with the wording. Kim Thompson was directed to prepare another report for the next meeting. OLD BUSINESS 1. Miller Application Kim Thompson reported that Mr. Devitt has completed the mortar work on the Hugh Miller home and an invoice has been received. Kim will inspect and take pictures of the finished work and upon her approval the invoice will be paid. Moved by Kim Thompson and seconded by Konrad Zeh that the Miller's be reimbursed for the cost of the mortar work to their home upon . Kim's inspection and approval. Carried NEW BUSINESS 1. Anna Willson reported that the Committee have been asked for their comments on the garden shed which has been erected on the Lloyd Thomas property in Whitevale. Moved by Konrad Zeh, seconded by Henry Gawman that as the shed is not within the view of the street scape, the Committee does not have any objections to the proposal. Lost Moved by Dave Pickles, seconded by Kim Thompson that the above motion be amended to say 'as the shed does not infringe on the intent of the designation' , the Committee does not have any objections to the proposal. Carried 2. Konrad Zeh requested the Committee consider having an Associate Member. The Committee stated that anyone is welcome to come and comment at these meetings, but would not be a voting member. ` - 4 3. Henry Gawman suggested that LACAC have a Logo and presented them with one that he had been working on. The Committee were in agreement with the sample that Henry presented. Henry was directed to write an article ,on Manressa on behalf of LACAC for the local newspaper. 4. Kim Thompson reported that she had been approached by Donna Moss of the Ajax/Pickering Newcomers Club and asked to provide Heritage Information for their November 18 or 19th meeting. Next Meeting The next meeting shall be held on Wednesday, December 2, 1992 at 7:00 p.m. in Meeting Room #1. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
