MINUTES
A meeting of the Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee •
was held on Wednesday, September 8, 1993 at 7:00 p.m. in the
Pickering Civic Complex, Committee Room.

1. Adoption of Minutes
Moved by Kim Thompson, seconded by Frank Williamson that the
Minutes of the August 4th meeting be adopted as amended:
To include Henry Gawman's attendance at the August 4th meeting.

2. Grant Applications
The Secretary gave a brief outline of the status of the three
grant applications submitted to the Ministry of Culture and
Communications. She advised that the applications have received
committee approval for approximately half of the request but have
not received final approval which should happen sometime near the
end of September.
3. Keffer Application
The Committee discussed at great length the Keffer application
pointing out that this recent application is not new but a
resubmission of the old application.
The Secretary was directed to write the Town Solicitor requesting
confirmation of the status of the Keffer application and
information concerning the guidelines to be followed.
A letter will be fowarded to Council with the Committee's
recommendations.
4. Plaques
Pictures of Heritage Plaques were distributed for the Committee's
consideration. Konrad Zeh agreed to obtain prices for the plaque
which was chosen by the Committee.
5. Official Plan
Mary Jarvis distributed information concerning the Draft Official
Plan and requested the assistance of the Committee. Frank
Williamson offered his assistance in outlining the properties
considered to be of Heritage Significance.
6. Culbert Application
The Committee discussed and approved the application for a
building permit submitted by Mr. Culbert
NEXT MEETING
The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 6, 1993 at
7:00 p.m. in Meeting Room #1.
ADJOURNEMNT
The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
