PRESENT: • Henry Gawman Dennis Mann • Dave Pickles • Enrico Pistritto Frank Williamson Andrew Cobean • STAFF: Debbie Kearns, Secretary LACAC ABSENT: • Louise Wiersnia Kimberly Thompson . 1. Budget - Enrico Pistritto gave an explanation of the revisions which occurred in the budget process and encouraged members of the-committee to enroll in any related seminars. 2. Whitevale Heritage Enrico advised that the O.M.B. approved the Whitevale Heritage designation and he stated that a number of area residents wish to be included in this designation. . . 3. Election . It was decided that the election of Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer would take place at the next meeting, regardless of how many members are in attendance. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ONE OF THESE POSITIONS PLEASE. CONTACT THE SECRETARY PRIOR TO THE NEXT MEETING. • ' 4. Post Manor Cemetery, Frank Williamson commented on the unacceptable condition of the cemetery grounds and stones. The Secretary will check with the Director of Parks and Facilities as to who is responsible for the upkeep of this site. 6. CHO Seminar The `Community Heritage Ontario Conference 1995' will be held in London, Ontario, May 26-28, 1995. 7. Monica Cook Estate The application for development of the property owned by the Monica Cook Estate was discussed and further information was requested. Moved by Dave Pickles Seconded by Dennis Mann That this site be recognized as a historical property, its preservation be supported. and a proposal from the Town and proponent to preserve be recommended. CARRIED Moved by Frank Williamson Seconded by Andy Cobean That the developer be requested to provide a suitable size plaque relating the history of the building and its owners and that this plaque be erected as close to the north-east corner as possible. CARRIED It was suggested that Mr. Cook be invited to speak to the Committee. 8. LACAC Profile Survey Frank Williamson has agreed to complete the survey requested by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Recreation. 9. Heritage Plaques The Heritage Pickering Plaques were discussed and will be ordered as soon as possible. 10. Pamphlet Frank Williamson distributed the new pamphlet. 11.Photographs Frank Williamson has in his possession the photos taken by previous committee members and will undertake mounting them on the appropriate form. , , -3 - 12.Rules of Order, Constitution, Committee Structure and By-law These items will be discussed at the next meeting and combined into one form rather than four. 13. Quorum Moved by Dennis Mann Seconded by Frank Williamson • That three members make up a quorum - Chair or Vice-Chair and two other committee members. Amendment to above motion Moved by Frank Williamson Seconded by Henry Gawman That three members make up a quorum. CARRIED 14. Liverpool House Dennis Mann spoke with the owners of the Liverpool House and advised that they are not prepared to designate this property at this time. 15.Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
