PRESENT: Henry Lawman Dennis Mann Kimberly Thompson - Enrico Pistritto(left at7:45 p.m.) Frank Williamson STAFF: Debbie Kearns, Secretary LACAC •REGRETS: - • _ . _ _• Louise Wiersma • • ABSENT: Andrew Cobean Dave Pickles • 1. McPherson House A discussion concerning the McPherson House took place. Councillor Pistritto advised that he would obtain a copy of the Solicitors Report to Council concerning this item and forwarded it to the Committee prior to it going to Executive on November 13, 1995. The Committee will endeavor to hold a meeting prior to the Executive Meeting. 2. 1995 Budget The Committee discussed having additional plaques purchased and erected to identify various heritage communities; eg. Dunbarton. • It was the concensus of the Committee to hire Katherine Tredway to undertake additional. consultive work. • • • • -2 - 3. Minutes of Previous Meeting Moved by Henry Gawman Seconded by Frank Williamson That the minutes of the October 4, 1995 meeting be approved. CARRIED 4. Other Business a) Kim Thompson will consult with the Public Works Department concerning the erection of signs in heritage areas. b) Frank Williamson stated that he attended the Planning Board Meeting in Brougham and advised that the Airport lands are still held by the Federal Government but anything that happens on these lands comes under the jurisdiction of the Region of Durham. He also advised that the Board did not seem to have any idea what is happening with Seaton or 407. c) Frank Williamson advised that he had been speaking with Tom Mohr who has requested a copy of the McPherson House Report. He also advised that the Pickering Museum Board would like to meet with the Committee concerning the McPherson House. d) Councilor Pistritto advised that Janet Mehak has requested the opportunity to once again sit on the Committee. e) Kim Thompson stated that if the Committee were interested in getting together at Christmas she would be happy to hold a Christmas Social at her home on December 17th, 1995. 5. Next Meeting The Committee may hold a special meeting on November 9th to discuss the McPherson House. Members will be telephoned if this meeting is to occur. The next meeting is scheduled for December 6th, 1995 at 7 p.m. 6. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
