PRESENT: Dennis Mann Andy Cobean Kimberley Thompson Frank Williamson Louise Wiersma Isa James(Planning Staff) I ABSENT: Henry Gawman Enrico Pistritto REGRETS: Dave Pickles • 1. Minutes of Previous Meeting • Moved by Frank Williamson , Seconded by Andy Cobean • That the Minutes of the February 6, 1996 meeting be approved. CARRIED . 2. Business Arising From Previous Minutes I a) A draft memo prepared by Kim Thompson was reviewed and approved for distribution to the Town Manager, Mayor and Members of Council. b) Invoices and receipts were submitted by Catherine .Tredway and Frank Williamson for expenses incurred for the Heritage Day Display. -very pleased with the display board rented. . -disappointed with the obvious slant towards multicultural theme rather. than community . ' heritage. . • -location of display was questionable. -questioned if worth the money spent on preparation. . -better location next year may be the Town Centre. c) The 1996 Budget was reviewed, discussed and adopted by Council. .J 2- d) The material for the Museum Car Rally is still being worked on. Catherine Tredway will supply inventory photographs. 3. New Business a) Demolition of Barn on Airport Lands -Dennis to investigate location and condition of barn. b) Proposed Educational Programs -copies were distributed at the meeting and copies will be forwarded to all who were not in attendance. c) Greenwood Library -question procedures for design. -background, etc. -check whether already designated. -ownership 4. Other Business a) Upcoming Conference- CHO Paint Conservation and Heritage Planning-April 27, 1996 b) Four Briefing Papers outlining some of the programs offered by the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario are enclosed. c) 1996 Volunteer Awards Program: Moved by Dennis Mann Seconded by Kim Thompson That Frank Williamson and Henry Gawman be nominated for the Volunteer Service Awards sponsored by the Ministry of Citizenship, Culture and Recreation. The Secretary will be contacted regarding submission of the applications. d) Heritage Building Permit Application was submitted and Dennis and Andy will visit the site and report to Kim Thompson as to recommended decision. e) Frank Williamson submitted his letter of resignation. 6. Next Meeting The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2nd, 1996 at 7 p.m.
