A meeting of the Audit Committee was held on April 2, 1996 at 7:00 p.m. in The Tower
Room of the Pickering Civic Complex. The following matters were discussed:
1. Audit Committee
Dawn Flett distributed and explained copies of overheads which outlined:
• The Objectives of an Audit Committee
• Auditors' Report
• Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
• Sample Outline of an Audit Committee Charter
• Typical Audit Committee Meeting Schedule
• Background Information for New Committee Members
• Required Communications to Audit Committees
2. Investigating and Report Procedures
Councillor Pistritto stated his concern and was satisfied with the response
concerning internal investigating procedures.
Mayor Arthurs, Councillor Brenner and Councillor Pistritto will review and decide
on the reporting procedures for the Internal Auditor.
3. Next Meeting
The next meeting of the Committee to discuss the audit function will be April 24th
at 4:00 p.m.
The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
