2_ ;` Committee Overview
Councillor Ryan provided an overview of the Committee's
activities during the period of 1991 — 1994 including the Race
Relations & Equity Policy. He also advised of activities from
1994 to present, including sponsoring events such as Heritage
Week, March 21 st, International Day for the Elimination of
Racial Discrimination, and Harassment Hurts Us All.
Additional Committee members are required from the
Ajax/Pickering Board of Trade and youth.

The Minutes of the January 9, 2002 meeting were approved.

Doris Beers
Doris provided an update on the program entitled `Turn To
Respect' being held in the Council Chambers at the Civic
Complex. This program is designed to train teachers, staff and
students and provide parents with information on how to keep
schools safe. Sessions will be held in three schools on
February 19tH, 2002 and at the Civic Complex on March 5tH
2002 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Dave and Matthew provided information on a community
meeting they attended.

The next meeting will be held on March 13, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. in
the Main Committee Room..
