Rose A Statutory Public Meeting was held by the Pickering Town Council on Monday, March 12, 1990 at 7:30 P.m. at 7:30 p.m. - Town Manager - Town Clerk - Deputy Cl erk - Director of Planning - Manager - Current Operations Division - Manager - Policy and Information Division - Planner - Planner ABSENT: Mayor Arthurs - (on vacation) (I) OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT 89-127/0 AND REZONING APPLICATION A4/89 SUBMITTED BY KAHN AUCTIONS LTD. ON THE EAST SIDE OF BROCK ROAD, SOUTH OF TAUNTON ROAD 1. An explanation of the application, as outlined in Information Report No. 22/90, was given by Catherine Rose, Planner. 2. Dennis Trotter, architect on behalf of the applicant, presented an architectural concept of the proposal and stated it will complement the present auction barn use. '-" 3. George Martin, representing the Greenwood and Area Ratepayers Association, spoke in support of the application. He stated that Brock Road, as a major entrance into Town, will be enhanced by the proposal and that it is an improvement over the many non-conforming uses currently on Brock Road. He added that the tourist attraction use complies with the District Plan and the Seaton Plan. 4. Ron Halliday spoke in support of the application and stated it should be approved. 5. Enrico Pistritto spoke in support of the application and stated it should be approved now rather than waiting for the approval of the Seaton Plan. ........... 2 (I I) REZONING APPLICATION A45/89 SUBMITTED BY BARONIA HOLDINGS LIMITED ON THE EAST SIDE OF BROCK ROAD, SOUTH OF HIGHWAY NO.40l ~ 1. An explanation of the application, as outlined in Information Report No. 23/90, was given by Kevin Heritage, Planner. Howard Weisberg, solicitor on behalf of the applicant, stated the proposal is to merge with the currently approved funeral home on Brock Road. 2. 3. There were no comments from those in favour of or opposed to the application.
