DELEGA TIONS
1.
Beverley Trull, a representative of the Pickering Community Food Bank
addressed the Committee with respect to the future of the Food Bank. She
advised that the Food Bank began in the Dunbarton-Fairport United
Church but, in 1991, due to spacing needs, was moved to St. Paul's on the
Hill. She stated that they understand that the present facility is to be
demolished and commented on their concern with the timing of this
demolition and their spacing requirements. The new facility would require
electricity, plumbing, appropriate parking and adequate space. She advised
that donations are received from various service clubs, condominium
corporations, churches, food stores, etc. She invited Council members to
visit the Food Bank on Tuesday or Friday morning during operating hours.
