ADOPTION OF MINUTES
Regular Meeting of May II, 1997
(II) DELEGA TIONS
1.
Alan Tonks, GT A Moderator, gave an overview of the process involved in
forming a Greater Toronto Services Board. He noted that the draft
legislation to set up the Board is being used as the model for discussion
purposes and his role is to refine, as well as coordinate, opinion. The main
role of the GTSB in the short term will be dispute resolution, infrastructure
coordinator, transit funding and economic development. The issue of
representation must be acceptable to all parties and to this end he is
currently studying various models of representation. The goal of the
GTSB is to build a legacy for at least 20 years.
