1. Minutes
Moved by Karen Emmink
Seconded by Brenda Rappos
That the minutes of the January 18, 2005 and February 15,
2005 meetings be adopted.

2. Business Arising
2.1 Recommendations to Council
The requested put forth for a Council representative is still Pamela to continue to
pending. Interest has been shown by various Members of follow up.
Council, but commitment has not been made.
John advised that he has been advised informally that
Council have appointed him Pickering's representative to
sit on the Federal heritage committee. There has been
some confusion as to the status of this Committee, but it
is to be re-established.
2.2 Heritaae Dav Event
Pamela reported that the 2005 Heritage Day Event was a
great success, the display was placed in a good location
and there was a fair amount of traffic.
2.3 Sprina Tour of White vale - Mav 14 - 15. 2005
Pamela advised that the scenes are set for this event. Pamela to updated

Pamela further advised that the suggestion that the Pamela to work with
heritage district be extended to Brock Road was well Whitevale to move this

The Whitevale & District Residents' Association will be
approached to suggest that the owners of undesignated
homes in Whitevale be invited for inclusion in the heritage
district designation.

Charles suggested that the wording for the Whitevale Pamela to follow up
Heritage Plaque be decided in time for the Whitevale with Timetour planning
event. committee.

2.5 MPAC

2.6 Indices
A request will be forwarded to Toronto asking for the Pamela to forward
Pickering indices to be sent and housed in the regional contact information to

req uest.
3. Other Business
3.1 Heritaae Planner
Pamela advised that she will be meeting with Neil Carroll, Pamela meeting with
Director, Planning & Development concerning a Heritage Neil Carroll. Brenda
Planner position. Brenda will contact the City of Toronto to contact Toronto
to acquire a copy of their job description for the position concerning job
of Heritage Planner and forward it to Pamela. description.
3.2 Whitevale Mill
Pamela reported that she will be meeting with Tim Pamela meeting with

3.3 Federal Lands
A meeting concerning the demolition of homes on federal
lands took place in Claremont at Transport Canada's
Pickering Land Site Office on Friday, March 11th.

From this meeting it was apparent that more meetings
must be held and communication between stakeholders
must improve.
Pamela will prepare a letter to be forwarded to Mark Pamela to prepare
Holland, MP, Wayne Arthurs, MPP, Heather Thompson, letter.
Ministry of Culture, Council, Transport Canada, the
Federal Ministry of Heritage and the Ministry of
Transportation advocating the ceasing of demolitions and
protecting the community.
4. Next Meeting
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 19th at 7:00 pm
in the Tower Room.
