2.1 Recommendations to Council

b) Federal Heritage Committee Rep
. John appointed as representative on Federal John to advise

2.2 Heritaae Pickerina Materials
. samples of pamphlets from various municipalities were
provided for the committee's review
. members concurred that the first priority would be to
have a small pamphlet outlining the role of Heritage
Pickering designed and distributed at events as well
as placed in various locations; Library, Pickering Town
Centre, City Hall, Recreation Complex, etc. Second
priority would be a larger publication.

. Pamela met with Neil Carroll and Tim Moore to
discuss the idea of a Heritage Planner for the City of
Pickering. There are other priorities for 2006 however
this position may be considered for the Planning
budget of 2007.

3.3 Additional Items
. consideration to be given to becoming involved in the
"Doors Open" event, possibly in collaboration with

. two plaques have been erected at the Quaker
Cemetery and the unveiling will take place at 10 am
on May 14th
. a submission has been made by the owners of the
Whitevale Mill to renovate this facility and Pamela has
reviewed the plans and provided comments to Tim
Moore
4. Next Meeting
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 17m at 7:00 pm
in the Tower Room.
