THAT we hear Mr. M. Collins' presentation on park needs.
CARRIED
The Director was directed to study the availability of land in
West Rouge (re: Mr. Collins presentation) and Bay Ridges (re:
the inadequacy of park land in Bay Ridges). Mr. Collins outlined
the need for park land, suitable for active sports, in West Rouge
(see item 3)
3. DISCUSSION - MR. BLACK'S LETTER RE: BALSDON 'PARK
The chairman read Mr. Black's letter to the Committee after
which it was decided that there was not adequate park land in
Bay Ridges.
4. PRESENTATION BY MR. PAUL HARITON RE: WEST SHORE GLEN AREA
Mr. Hariton discussed the delay inspraying of mosquitos in West
Shore and urged some action. He also voiced his opinion in regard$
to the new land which was to be a conserŸation park. Because of
the great numbers of people that would be attracted to this area
the residents of West Shore would suffer from a lack of privacy
unless the Township provide a buffer zone along the greenbelt area.
Both points mentioned above were discussed by the Committee. It
was decided that no spraying could be done until the people in
the affected area were contacted. Nothing would be done with
regards to the greenbelt, until a plan was received from the
Conservation Authority. The Citizens of West Shore would be
invited to provide their comments at that time.
