2. Business Arisin
2.1 Brochure Development
· Gordon Zimmerman and John Sabean provided pictures
of doors for the Committee to view.
· The possibility of using the Mount Zion Church doors for
the brochure was discussed.
· Jim Simpson volunteered to have the doors on his home
considered for the brochure and proposed pictures be
taken for consideration
· No decision was reached.

options to Shawna
2.2 Whitevale Heritaqe Conservation District
· Pamela is still waiting for clarification from Neil Carroll,
Planning & Development Department, as to the
implications of waiting to put the interim control in place
now that the Provincial plan has been approved.

· A discussion ensued on the need to have a document in
place that would provide potential owners/and those who
have already purchased a heritage property, as to the
guidelines when considering additions/changes to the
property.
· Suggested writing a letter to Paul King, Past President of
CHO to help us with this.
2.,3 Glen House and Willson House Desiqnations
· All designations will be in the next edition of the News
Advertiser, May 24th. The City Clerk advised that she
has corrected the problem that prevented these
designations from being published, as was previously
stated.
2.4 Cherrvwood Blacksmith House
· Clarification has been received that this property will
house 2 families in a single dwelling.
· The City is waiting for final formal drawings/plans on the
proposed renovations.
2.5 Federal/Airport Lands
· To date no update on this topic. Update received from
Mark Holland contained information reported at the April
meeting.
2.6 Whitevale Residence
· A City building inspector will assess this property and
provide a report on the condition of the structure.
· Homeowner will contact the Povincial government with
respect to the water damage.
· Should HP ask for a budget in 2007 to retain House
Inspectors, Architects for such requests?
· John Sabean suggested formulating a process to assess
structures of this type (see 2.2).
· Check with other municipalities what their processes are.
· Whitby does have a point system in place.
Further discussions on this topic in the form of a brainstorming
session was also put forward.
2.7 Whitevale Sprinq Festival
· Shawna had visual foam core boards created from
components of the draft brochure.
· To date, Shawna Foxton, Pamela Fuselli and Kim
Sahadath have volunteered to assist with this festival.

· More volunteers are needed, contact Jim Simpson if you
can help.
2.8 "Historical 5" Publication
· Draft outline was handed out to Committee.
· Gordon Willson will have mock-up of publication shortly.
· Comments or questions from Committee welcome.
3. Other Business
3.1 Old Taunton Road Re-Naminq
· A proposal to re-name to "Jackson Drive" has been
submitted to Planning.
3.2 Protected Listinq Development
· Suggestion to create a listing of properties of interest to
the Committee - previously discussed but due to
workload and arising issues, not pursued.
· Planning Department will need to be involved in the
development of a database.
· Some inventory already exists.
