Request for Road Dedication By-law (Rosebank Road)
Part Lots 30 and 31, Conc. 2, Pickering (Parts 15 & 21, Plan 40R-23461)

An application for development of a plan of subdivision on the northwest corner of Finch
and Rosebank (40M-2254) has created the need for a realignment of Rosebank Road
north of Finch Avenue. It is anticipated that such a realignment will accommodate the
increased traffic volume in this area, provide an improved and safer intersection for both
vehicles and pedestrians and will allow for future signalization when traffic volumes are
warranted.
Staff have negotiated with Hydro for the acquisition of the lands required to
accommodate this realignment and once the City becomes the registered owner of the
lands and the road is constructed to standards acceptable to the City, dedication is
required.
Accordingly, a By-law should be enacted authorizing the dedication of these lands.
Attached hereto is a location map and a By-law. This By-law is in the form usually used
in such cases and is attached for the consideration of City Council at its meeting
scheduled for November 7, 2005.

THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PICKERING
BY-LAW NO. 6593/05
Being a by-law to dedicate that part of Lot 31, Concession 2,
Pickering, designated as Part 15, Plan 40R-23461 and that part of
Lot 30, Concession 2,, Pickering, designated as Part 21, Plan
40R-23461, as public highway (Rosebank Road).
WHEREAS The Corporation of the City of Pickering is the owner of that part of Lot 31,
Concession 2, Pickering, designated as Part 15, Plan 40R-23461 and that part of Lot 30,
Concession 2, Pickering, designated as Part 21, Plan 40R-23461 and wishes to dedicate
them as public highway.
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of The Corporation of the City of Pickering HEREBY
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
That part of Lot 31, Concession 2, Pickering, designated as Part 15, Plan 40R-23461 is
hereby dedicated as public highway (Rosebank Road).
That part of Lot 30, Concession 2, Pickering, designated as Part 21, Plan 40R-23461,
is hereby dedicated as public highway (Rosebank Road).
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 7th day of November,
2005.
