THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING
BY-LAW NUMBER
Being a By-law respecting the maintenance,
operation and management of the Town of
Pickering Museum
WHEREAS the Town of Pickering wishes to maintain, operate and
manage a public historical Museum within the Municipality,
AND WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of paragraph 74 of
section 352 of The Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1970, c.284, as amended,
the Council of a Municipality may pass a by-law or by-laws for
the maintenance, operation and management and for the granting of
aid for the maintenance, operation and management of public
historical museums;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. There shall be maintained, operated and managed
within the Municipality of the Corporation of the
Town of Pickering a public historical museum.
2. The Corporation of the Town of Pickering may from
time to time grant aid for the maintenance,
operation or management of the Museum referred to
in section 1.
3. Aid granted pursuant to section 2 may be in the
form of monies deposited in a special bank account
designated "Reserve Fund - Museur. Development".
