Being a By-law to authorize the construction
of watermains on the streets set out herein,
together with a 3.0 million gallon reservoir
and booster pumping station and controls,
as local improvements under the provisions
of The Local Ir~provement Act.
WHEREAS it is deemed advisable that the construction
of the work herein shall be undertaken as a local improvement
and notice of the intention of Council to undertake such work
has been publi shed.
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF
THE TOWNSHIP OF PICEERING ENACTS as follows:
1. That watermains shall be constructed on the streets
and between the points set out below, and in addition a 3.0
million gallon storage reservoir and booster pumping station
and controls, shall be constructed at an estimated cost of
$628,000.00 as a local improvement under the provisions of
The Local Improvement Act,

The Owner's share of the cost will be $57,600.00, based on
an estimated cost of $5.76 per foot frontage of the lands
abutting directly on the watermains, and the remainder of the
cost of the work, $570,400.00 will be borne by the Corporation
and charged against all lands in Defined Water Area No. l,
as set out in By-law Number ~90, as amended.
2. That the sum of $570,400.00 to be borne by the
Corporation, together with the Owner's share of $57,600.00
be paid by the issuance of debentures, bearing interest at

the rate of ~ % per annum, repayable in 20 annual
i nst al merit s.
3. That the sum of $570,400.00 is to he a charge
against all lands in Defined Water Area No. l, as set out
in By-law No. 290 as amended.
4. The Treasurer of the Township may, subject to the
approval of Council, agree with any bank or person for
te~orary advances of money to meet the cost of the work
pending the completion thereof.
5. The Engineer of the Corporation is hereby authorized
to make such plans, profiles and spe~fications and f~rnish
such information as may be necessary for the making of contracts,
for the doir~ of the work or for carrying out the same by day
labour and the work shall be carried on and executed under the
superintendence and according to the directions and orders of
the said Engineer.
6. Any person whose lot is specially assessed may
com~te by a payment in cash the special rate i$osed by paying
the costs of construction assessed upon such lot without the
interest forthwith after the Special Assessment Roll has been
certified by the Clerk but may not core,rite after the Debenture
By-law has been passed.
