Bein8 a by.law to amend By.taw Number 2439/87 to regnlate
election signs.
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing enacted By-law
Number 2439/87 on April 6, 1987 to regulate signs in the Town of Picketing; and
WHEREAS the said Council passed Resolution #316/97 at its regular meeting of August
5, 1997 to regulate election signs;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. Section l I of By-law Number 2439/87 is hereby amended by adding thereto the
following:
Election signs may be erected on road allowances under the jurisdiction of the
Town of Picketing subject to the following conditions:
a) No election sign shall,
i) be erected within three metres of the traveled portion of the road
ii) be erecte:l within 0.5 metres ora sidewalk
iii) exceed five square metres in size.
b) No election sign shall be erected on a median or bridge under the
jurisdiction of the Town of Picketing or any other location that may create
an unsafe situation.
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 15th day of September,
1997.
