HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 2927 THE CORPORATION OF THE TO%~NSHIP OF PICKERING A By-law to authorize the construction of watermaine and water service connections and sanitary set,ers and sanitary sewer connections on the streets set out herein as local improvements under the provisions of The Local Improvement Act %~EREAS it is deemed expedient that the construction of the works set out herein shall be undertaken as local improvements under the provisions of The Local Improvement Act. NOW THEREFORE The Council of The Corporation of the Township of Picketing Enacts as Follows: 1. That sanitary sewer connections bo constructed on Psmk Crescent, between Pine Avenue and the centre line of Lot 38, Plan 2?0, on the esst sid~ and between the north limit of Lot l, Plan 364, and the south limit of Lot ?, Pl~n 364, on the west side, at an estimat~, cost of $2,3~O.OO as a local improvement under the provisions of The Local Improvement Act. The entire cost of each connection shall be specially assessed upon the particular lot for or in connection with ~ich it is constructed. 2 Th t ni~ r o o · a sa ~a y c nnecti ns De cons~ruc~eG on Falroort~ ~oad (West Side), ~etween ~lne Avenue and~akecre~t Boulevard~ ' at an estimated cost of $780.00 as a local improvement under the provisions of The Local Ir~rovement Act. The entire cost of each connection shall be specially assessed upon the particular lot for or in connection with which it is constructed. 3. That sanitsry sewers be constructed on the streets and between the points as set out in Schedule "A" annexed hereto at an estimated cost of $94,442.00 as local improvements under the provisions of The Local Improvement Act. The entire cost of the said sanitary sewers is to be specially assessed upon the lands abutting directly on %he work and upon lands not abutting directly upon the work but immediacy benefitting therefrom. The entire cost, including debenture charges, shall be assessed and levied on the rateable property in the area set out in Schedule "B" annexed hereto which is hereby defined a Sanitary Sewer Local Improvement Area pursuant ~o Section 67(1) of The Local Improvement Act, R.S.O. 1960, as amended, and be paid by an annual rate of 58~ per foot on the lands specially assessed. - 2 - 4. That sanitary sewer connections be constructed on the streets and between the points as set out in Schedule A annexed hereto at an estimated cost of $3~,970.00 as local improvements under the provisions of The Local Improvement Act. The entire cost of each connection shall be specially assessed upon the particular lot for or in connection with which it is constructed. 5. That watermains be constructed on the streets and between the points as set out in Schedule J'C" annexed hereto at an estim- ated cost of $113,544. OO as local improvements under the pro- visions of The Local Improvement Act. The entire cost of the said watermains is to be specially assessed upon the lands abutting directly on the work and upon lands not abutting direct- ly upon the work but immediately benefitting therefrom. The entire cost, including debenture charges, shall be assessed and levied on the rateable property in the area set out in Schedule "D" annexed hereto which is hereby defined a Watermain Local Improvement Area pursuant to Section 67(1) of The Local Improve- ment Act, R.S.O. 1960, as amended, and be paid by an annual rate of 625 per foot on the lands specially assessed. 6. That water service connections 'be constructed on the streets and between the points as set out in Schedule "C" annexed hereto at an estimated cost of $23,k40.OO as local Improvements under ~he provisions of The Local Improvement Act. The entire eost of each water service connection shall be specially assessed upon the particular lot for or in connection with which it is constructed. The Engineer of the Corporation is hereby authorized to make such plans, profiles and specifications and furnish such information as may be necessary for the making of contracts, for the doing of the work or for carryiag out the same by day labour and the work shall be carried on and executed under the super- intendence and according to the directions and orders of the said Engineer. S. That the entire cost of the works be paid by the issuance of debentures bearing interest st the rate of 6% per annum and be repaid by the said special assessments over a term of 20 years. 9. The Treasurer of the Township may, subject to the approval of Council, agree with any bank or person for temporary -3- advances of money to meet the cost of the work pending the com- pletion thereof. lO. Any person whose lot is specially assessed may commute by a payment in cash the special rates imposed by paying the costs of construction assessed upon such lot without the interest forthwith after the Special Assessment Roll has been certified by the Clerk but may not commute after the Debenture By-law has been passed.
