A BY-LAW OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING TO SET OUT THE
DUTIES OF THE DY-LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER.
BE IT ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Township of Picketing that
the duties of the By-Law Enforcement Officer shall be:
1. The supervision of dog-catching and pound services.
2, The investigation and prosecution of all breaches of Township By-Laws.
3. The administration of payments made as compensation to any owner of
livestock killed by a dog or dogs as provided in any law or by-law.
The removal and disposal of carcasses of dead animals on Township
roads or property.
;5. To act as Attendance Officer under the School Administration Act,
1954~ and to carry out the duties of such Officer under that or any
other Act.
6. To be Weed Inspector.
~ 7. To supervize the Warble Fly tSpray' program.
8. To be Parks Administrator.
. 9. To supervlze the maintenance of abandoned cemeteries assumed by the
Township.
10. To issue permits under the Beach and Shore Protection Act.
11. To be responsible for the issuing of licenses for:
Nursing Homes
Restaurants and Lunchcounters
Garage Licenses
Salvage Yard and Second Hand Goods
Peddlers
Caterers
Bowling Alleys
Billiard Tables
Public Halls
Taxi~ Taxi Stands, Taxi Drivers
Driving Schools
after the necessary approvals have been acquired and all fees have
been paid to the Treasurer.
12. Such further duties as Council may from time to time prescribe.
[he By-Law Enforcement Officer is responsible to Council for the diligent
administration of the funds appropriated to the use of his Department and
the services which it is to supply.
