A BY-LAW OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKZRING TO PERMIT
TIIEATRICAL AND MOTION PICTURE PERFORMANCES, DRIVE-IN THEATRE PERFORMANCES,
CONCERTS AND LECTURES ON SUNDAYS.
W}{EREAS at the municipal elections held in the Township of Picker~ng
on t--~qth day 6f December, 1961, the following question was sub-
mitted to the electors:
"~re you in favour of movin~ p~ctures, drive-in theatres,
theatrical performances, concerts and lectures after 1:30
o'clock in the ~fternoon of the Lord's Day?"
AND WHEREAS the vote of the electors on the question was in the
affirmative;
AND WHEREAS the question as submitted as aforesaid was substantially
mn the same terms as the question set out in subsection ~ of
Section 2 of The Lord's Day (Ontario) Act, 1960-61;
THE COUNCIL OF ~t[E CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. Subsection 1 of Section 2 of The Lord's Day (Ontario) Act,
1960-61 applies within the limits of the Township of
Pickering.
2. No exhibition of moving pictures or theatrical performances,
drive-in theatre performances, concerts or lectures on the
Lord's Day shall commence before half past one o'clock in the
afternoon or continue after twelve o'clock midnight.
